Speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Tien Huy – CEO of Pencil Group/Localis – stated that in this collaboration, Localis will sponsor the entire technological system while also participating in content production and operations. This ensures that the website is constantly updated with the latest information on destinations, human stories, and living experiences in Ho Chi Minh City.
One of the project’s key orientations is to tell the city’s story through each specific locality. According to Mr. Huy: “Following administrative mergers, Ho Chi Minh City now consists of 168 wards and communes. The long-term goal is for each ward and commune to have its own story told on the platform, creating a diverse mosaic of urban life”. This approach will start from the people, daily life experiences, cultural spaces, and everyday activities, which then lead to specific destinations.
Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu – Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center – shared: “Developing this partnership is not just about building a website; it is about creating a connecting platform and a useful, accessible information channel that enhances the visitor experience. This is a strategic step for the city’s tourism to undergo a strong transformation in the digital era”.

In the initial phase, visithcmc.vn will continue to focus on promoting cultural tourism products and businesses that leverage indigenous cultural values. In the long term, the platform is expected to evolve into an ecosystem that allows for direct connections between tourists and experiences, moving toward personalized travel journeys.
