Introduction to Du Gia Village
Du Gia is a municipality in Yen Minh District in Ha Giang Province. It is located between the cities of Ha Giang and Meo Vac, both approximately 70 kilometres away. There is also a second route from Ha Giang which is 110 kilometres. Du Gia is an unknown quiet village in Ha Giang, this place is visited almost exclusively by travellers who ride the famous Ha Giang loop. There are no bus connections with the town, so you can only get there by motorcycle or car with a driver. The roads are of poor quality, but you will be rewarded with beautiful landscapes and local villages of ethnic hill tribes.

Cultural festivals in Du Gia are mainly populated by Tay and H’mong communities; Du Gia boasts many ethnic cultural festivals, including spring harvest festival, rain-calling ritual, ethnic fair, love fair, to name the main ones.
Many unique cultural features of ethnic communities have not been lost, such as: Gau Tao Festival of the Mong ethnic group, Long Tong festival of the Tay ethnic group, the Ceremony of Graduation of the Dao people, and the Ceremony of Offering to the Forest Gods of the Pu Peo people. Along with the costumes, the traditional folk songs of the ethnic groups are still kept alive. Du Gia also has a Phong Luu market which has been formed and maintained once a year for hundreds of years. Phong Luu love Market is a traditional cultural feature of the land of Du Gia Ha Giang. Every year in the middle of the third week of the lunar calendar, young couples eagerly prepare for this market. In addition to the activities of selling local specialties, the management also organises cultural performances, sports competitions, etc. The main purpose is to create a playground, a meeting place for couples to get to know each other.
